Paul “Korky” Korkemaz serves as National Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Born and raised in Troy, NY, just outside of Albany, Korky is of Lebanese descent and a Maronite Catholic, the oldest of 12 Near Eastern Catholic rites under Rome. He earned his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Notre Dame, where he majored in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. His career spanned
various leadership assignments at McDonnell Douglas Corporation (now Boeing) and Honeywell. Korky “retired” in 2014 and became involved in consulting to government contractors and supporting several charity organizations. Korky became a Vincentian at Our Lady of Good Counsel’s SVdP Conference in Vienna, Virginia in August 2015. In 2017, he became a Helpline Team leader for the Conference, and in 2018, he was elected the Conference’s Vice President. Korky became Diocesan Council President for SVdP Arlington in October 2020. He served as the Vincentian representative on the Bishop’s Strategic Plan Charitable Works Pillar Group in 2022. He was elected as the National Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Region in March of 2023. In his downtime, Korky enjoys golf and playing card games. He and his wife, Jean, live near Tysons Corner, VA.
